# ManualPass – Instructions, service & security via QR code on the machine

> ManualPass provides instructions for use and EU declarations of conformity digitally via a permanent QR code – under the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, with paper copy requests, service, safety notices and Security & Support for the Cyber Resilience Act. Servers in Germany.

**Are digital instructions for use allowed under the Machinery Regulation?**
Yes. Under Article 10(7) of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, instructions for use may be provided in digital form – provided the machine states how to access them, they can be printed, downloaded and saved, and they remain available online for the expected lifetime, at least ten years after placing on the market.

**Do I still have to supply paper?**
If the user requests it at the time of purchase, you must provide the instructions on paper free of charge within one month. For products intended for or reasonably foreseeably used by non-professional users, the essential safety information must always be supplied on paper.

**When does the Machinery Regulation apply?**
Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 applies from 20 January 2027 and then replaces the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. What matters is when the individual unit is placed on the market.

**How much does ManualPass cost?**
Starter costs €129 per month (up to 10 machine types, 2 users), Professional €279 (up to 50, 5 users), Business €549 (up to 250, 15 users) – all per month excl. VAT; Enterprise with price on request. 12-month term with annual billing; every plan can be tried free for 14 days first.

**Does ManualPass write my instructions?**
No. ManualPass provides finished documents as PDF digitally – with a fixed QR code, scan page, paper copy requests and version archive. Writing and translating remain with you or your technical writing service provider.

**Where is the data stored?**
ManualPass runs on servers in Germany. The public scan page sets no tracking cookies.
